the island of the sleep
a pile of 100 sheets form an island
wakefulness begins to fall and we fall asleep

the island of the sleep was linked to the cotton mill
in Norrtälje in the late 1700s and can be seen as a
tribute to all women throughout the ages which stood
in the river with laundry and also as a personal
interpretation of "Death Island" by Arnold Böcklin
